Full compliance with the Building Code of Australia

Abbey Thermalboards satisfies all the requirements of the Building Code, produced by the regulatory national body the Australian Building Codes Board (ABCB) on behalf of the Australian Federal Government as well as individual State and Territory Governments.

The Code covers all the necessary technical provisions for the design and construction of buildings and other structures in Australia, including their structure, fire resistance, access and egress, services and equipment, energy efficiency and some aspects of health and amenity.

Our products and services have been tested in accordance with the requirements of the Australian and New Zealand Manufacturing Standard AS/NZ S4256.4 for exterior wall cladding materials.

All testing performed in accordance with the relevant standards has shown that our products fully conform to all the requirements of the officially recognised Australian and New Zealand Standards.

Please refer to the official Reference Documents for Australian/New Zealand Manufacturing Standards:

Full compliance with the Australian Standards for Wind Loading

Abbey Thermalboards exterior wall cladding has been evaluated as suitable for use in Australian tropical cyclone areas (Wind classification C4).

We meet the full requirements of the Australian and New Zealand Standard AS1170-Part 2-2002 Region C House, for both elevated and ground level buildings in all exposure conditions, and other buildings up to 10m in height (in open rural areas) and 25m in height (in suburban terrain).

But nothing says it better than physical proof: Our Abbey cladded homes on the north Queensland coast were unaffected by the severe 320km/h winds of Cyclone Larry in 2006. Our exterior wall cladding range will provide superior protection and superior strength, no matter where you are.
