Abbey’s Cladding Insulation is Effective

Stabilised air is a good insulator, and Abbey cladding insulation is extremely effective because our it contains finely shaped spherical particles which are 98% air – similar to that of the highest quality vacuum flasks.

All of our insulation material are

  • Able to resist the adverse effects of moisture
  • Exceptionally strong
  • Manufactured in different densities
  • Exhibit excellent compressive and flexural strength
  • Has very high strength to weight ratios

Abbey’s Cladding Insulation is Highly Durable

Our cladding insulation material has very high durability

  • Inert, organic material that will not rot
  • Highly resistant to mildew
  • No nutritive value to ants, termites, rodents and the likes

Abbey’s insulation does not contain CFCs. They are HCFC free and therefore do not contribute to the depletion of the Earth’s ozone layer.

Abbey’s Cladding Insulation is Fire Retardant

Abbey cladding insulation material contains a fire retardant additive and do not present an undue fire hazard. Our insulation can be recycled during the manufacturing process with any excess ground back up and returned into the blocks.

Abbey insulation can be used in any application that insulation and strength are required and is often combined with Abbey aluminium cladding and vinyl cladding.

Abbey's Types of Insulated Boards

Abbey Thermalboards can provide two types of insulated wall boards:

  1. Isolite – plain insulation or more commonly used product
  2. Neopor® – which is graphite infused and higher in insulation than the Isolite

Neopor® Insulation


Neopor® is an insulation option offered by Abbey Thermalboards. They are most effective in foil- covered products and even more so in the foil used by Abbey Thermalboards in vinyl cladding.

Neopor® is a graphite polystyrene (GPS) rigid foam insulation that is fire retardant, self-extinguishing. The material is nonhazardous according to the health criteria of the (ASCC). The blend of polystyrene and graphite is slightly denser than plain insulation. It has greater insulation performance than that of conventional  expandable polystyrene (EPS) of the same density and thickness due to tiny particles of graphite that are embedded in the EPS beads to reflect and absorb radiation.

The strength and insulation of performance characteristics of Neopor®make it ideally suited as thermal insulation on walls of residential and commercial buildings.
